Sean’s Bio: Sean joined the Greater Portland Inc. team in 2011 as the organization’s new CEO. He comes to Greater Portland Inc. with over a decade of professional experience in economic development, commercial real estate and urban and regional planning in Wisconsin.  He has built a reputation as a get-it-done leader at the intersection of business and community affairs, forging partnerships between public and private sector partners to deliver important community development initiatives.

Most recently (2009-2011), Sean served as the Executive Vice President of Thrive, which is Madison, Wisconsin’s regional public-private economic development partnership. During his tenure, he lead the organization through the creation and implementation of an important new strategic plan that improved the region’s access to capital, built a shared regional business retention and expansion infrastructure, and launched the creation of the region’s Economic Development District designation with the U.S. Economic Development Administration.  Sean was recently named to The Portland Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 for 2012.

Sean holds a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Iowa. He and his wife Kristy are proud parents of their two sons, Emory and Mason.
